  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to plant personnel on EHS issues, including training programs, safety awareness campaigns, and emergency response procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, and facility design.
  • Manage and maintain all required permits, licenses, and regulatory documentation related to environmental compliance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address deficiencies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and third-party auditors on EHS matters.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes related to EHS management, and proactively recommend updates to policies and procedures as needed.
  • Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization by promoting open communication, participation in safety committees, and recognition of safety achievements.
Qualifications

  • Professional certification in EHS (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) preferred.
  • Proficient with Environmental and or Safety regulations. Minimum of 5 years experience. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements (federal, state and provincial) and apply them to the workplace.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, FDA) and experience managing compliance programs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a demonstrated track record of implementing effective EHS programs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
