Job Details:

We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant. For the right candidate we are flexible and open to either a part-time (20-30 hours per week) or a full-time (32-42 hours per week) shift. No Nights! No Weekends!

Duties:

• Assist veterinarians in providing medical care for animals
• Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
• Prepare animals for surgery, including shaving and cleaning surgical sites
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as bloodwork and urinalysis
• Monitor animals before, during, and after procedures or surgeries
• Clean and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment
• Provide post-operative care and monitoring for animals recovering from surgery
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting preferred
• Knowledge of animal handling techniques and behavior
• Familiarity with animal care practices and procedures
• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
• Experience with animal catheterization and aseptic technique is a plus
• Basic understanding of animal physiology and anatomy
• Proficiency in laboratory procedures and sample collection
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
