Position Purpose

A patient services representative is responsible for a variety of activities related to patient intake and care. They greet and check-in patients, verify information and enter it into the system, collect payments for services, answer the phone and schedule appointments. This is a full-time position that requires experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Greet patients and keep informed of appointment status.
• Establish and maintain demographics and insurance information using on-line system.
• Manual insurance verifications on all patients.
• Ensure efficient telephone communication.
• Type correspondence, reports, memos, and forms as requested by physicians and/or administration.
• Arranges appointments and enters referrals.
• Check patients in/out.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance and back balances for all services.
• Demonstrate courtesy and helpfulness toward patients and their families.
• Schedule mutually acceptable appointment times for patients and physicians using computerized scheduling system.
• Work as a team member within all other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Print new patient paperwork and all forms needed for the office.
• Maintain inventory and submit front office supply order to administration.
• Keep front area neat and tidy at all times.
• Copy medical information as requested following proper procedures.
• Distribute mail/faxes and handle routine correspondence.
• Any other work-related duties determined appropriate by management.
