TITLE: Director of eSportsDepartment Reports to: Operations Director Reports to: Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer SUMMARY: Anna Maria College seeks a Director of eSports who will provide leadership and supervision for the College’s eSports program. Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer, the Director of eSports will be responsible for:
Recruiting qualified prospective students, developing and implementing effective training sessions and practices, and supporting students in their development.
Meeting specified annual enrollment and participation goals by identifying, evaluating and recruiting prospective students to participate as members of the eSports team.
Securing competition and communicating game/tournament schedules for pre-approval.
Working with other departments as needed to help with streaming, casting, and creating/hosting tournaments, and working with marketing to manage social media presence and promotions.
Participating in the development of the whole student, including individual well-being and life skills.
Monitoring and ensuring the academic progress of team members.
Fostering and maintaining a culture that demonstrates a commitment to compliance with all leagues, conferences, and institutional rules and regulations.
Fostering and maintaining a culture that demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, as well as trust and mutual respect.
Establishing a technology strategy and assessing ongoing technology needs for the success of the team.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements Necessary To Reach Acceptable Performance
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum one year of competitive eSports coaching experience involving multiplayer online video games with team-based elements and expert knowledge.
Experience teaching and developing gaming skills and ability; outstanding interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent administrative and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and complete tasks by established deadlines.
