Position:- Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation Specialist
Location:- Fort Meade, MD - –REMOTE (Must be able to attend interface meetings and testing activities)

Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, conducting, and documenting comprehensive cybersecurity testing and evaluation activities to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and networks. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, testing methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with other cybersecurity professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Test Planning and Execution:
o Develop detailed test plans and procedures for evaluating cybersecurity systems and applications.
o Conduct cybersecurity testing, including penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security audits.
o Identify and document security weaknesses and vulnerabilities in systems and networks.
2. Evaluation and Analysis:
o Analyze test results to assess the effectiveness of security measures and identify potential security risks.
o Provide recommendations for mitigating identified vulnerabilities and enhancing security controls.
o Evaluate new security technologies and tools to determine their applicability and effectiveness.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
o Prepare detailed test reports, including findings, analysis, and recommendations.
o Document testing methodologies, procedures, and results for compliance and reference purposes.
o Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
4. Collaboration and Support:
o Work closely with system administrators, developers, and other cybersecurity professionals to implement security improvements.
o Provide technical support and guidance to teams during the development and implementation of security measures.
o Participate in security incident response activities as needed.
5. Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure testing activities comply with relevant cybersecurity standards, regulations, and best practices.
o Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
o Contribute to the development and improvement of internal cybersecurity policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity testing and evaluation or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, testing methodologies, and security tools.
• Proficiency in conducting penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and security audits.
• Experience with common cybersecurity tools and technologies (e.g., Nessus, Wireshark).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex technical information.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with relevant cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, DoD).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Experience in a government or defense contracting environment.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices and DevSecOps methodologies.
