The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $57-62K.
About the Role
As the Assistant/Associate Area Agent you will provide leadership for Extension programs in the area of Small Acreage and Food Production. You will focus on small farm crop production, including supporting growers with aspects of marketing grant support. You will collaborate with growers, educational institutions, governmental organizations, and community organizations to develop a program that introduces new technologies and appropriate varieties for crop production with the focus of providing fresh local produce and value-added products to direct markets, CSAs, restaurants, and other outlets. Targeted educational programs may include beginning farmer workshops, on-farm food safety training, innovative irrigation practices, soil management, weed management, and season extension.
