The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $55,000 - $90,000.

About the role:

Responsible for overseeing the design and construction process of capital improvement projects, ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal standards, as well as programmatic requirements. Projects cover all building systems and various types, including moderately complex ones like clinics or laboratories. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of maintenance, renovation, and quick-hit projects.

How you will spend your time:

  • Develop project descriptions and scopes of work.
  • Identify and gather input from appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage project communication with customers, stakeholders, design professionals, consultants, construction managers, and vendors.
  • Coordinate and participate in efficient, well-planned, and productive meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interpret client questions/requests and respond with answers and solutions.
  • Recommend selection of, negotiate with, and coordinate the work of design professionals, consultants, construction managers, and vendors.
  • Ensure contracts/agreements reflect client needs and project parameters, and review for compliance.
  • Initiate change orders and amendments as needed.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring funding is in place for expenditures and encumbrances.
  • Monitor accounts and reconcile statements.
  • Utilize the project management system to keep project information up to date.
  • Provide advice, prepare, and monitor project schedules to ensure project needs are met.
  • Assure projects remain on schedule throughout design and construction phases.
  • Monitor projects to ensure scope, time, and budget requirements are met.
  • Highlight key decisions for the project team in advance of deadlines.
  • Provide briefings and reports that are accurate and contain appropriate detail.
  • Evaluate professionals involved in projects as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management and one year of related experience; or a high school diploma/equivalency and five years of related experience.(Note: or a combination of related post-high school education and experience equal to five years in the same.)
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia drivers license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.?
