Duties/Responsibilities

• Driving - will drive a motor vehicle (generally a utility van or light truck) up to 26, 000 pounds gross vehicle weight on the public highways to transport non-hazardous materials. Typically loads and unloads the vehicle.
• Traffic assistance - duties involve checking freight bills and delivery receipts and bills of lading related to customer shipping documentation for delivery. Traffic assistance may also require determination of best methods for shipment
• Receiving - truck offloading, verify and check stock and other materials received, match materials to purchase orders, inventory storage or distribution directly to production.
• Shipping - preparing outbound production, loading trucks, match production material to paperwork to document shipments of material.
• Inventory - Read work orders, requisitions or other documentation to move material for production or distribution.
• Packing - prepare materials for shipment using shrinkwrap or other equipment as necessary. Prepare labeling and other documentation for packaging and shipping.
• Record activity details.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor including warehouse area or facilities maintenance.

Qualifications

Educational/Training Requirement:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.

Experience: One year of route transportation experience in addition to prior warehouse clerical and operational experience.

Licenses/Certifications: (List required licenses and certifications)

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Be able to pass a background check, insurance requirements and a DOT physical (as may be required).
• Demonstrate safe and efficient driving skills
• Lift at least 50 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including word, excel and email outlook
• Proficient data entry skills preferably from other system exposure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
