AOB is Hiring an Advancement Director – Admissions, Marketing and Development (EX) (2024-2025) - Mother Mary Lange Catholic School, Baltimore MD Near Baltimore, MD

The full-time Advancement Director reports to the principal and is responsible for the overall planning, management, coordination, and evaluation of the enrollment management, marketing, development, communications, and constituent/public relations programs of the school – activities that create a supportive climate for enrollment and development. This is all to provide sufficient resources to insure the School can achieve its mission.

Essential Functions

Enrollment Management

  • Responsible for the planning, management, and implementation of the marketing, recruitment, and retention of students. This includes but is not limited to open houses, campus visits and tours, re-registration, website/social media creation, etc.
  • Working closely with key volunteers, coordinate the external and internal marketing efforts and initiatives that attract and retain students in sufficient numbers to support the school's programs.
  • Plan, collect data, make projections, and report enrollment management data.

Marketing

  • Responsible for the promotion and marketing of the school to create awareness and grow enrollment. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Market research
  • Media Planning
  • Creation and execution of a strategic marketing plan using a diverse media mix.
  • Design and creation of marketing and admissions materials, as well as the production of the advertising creative (the ads).
  • Brand management
  • Public relations (seek publicity opportunities, create/distribute press releases to local media highlighting school events and achievements)
  • Manage and oversee the school’s electronic communications outlets (website and social media channels)

Event Management

  • Maintain knowledge of events, spearhead and offer assistance as needed
  • Track and produce event statistics and outcomes
  • Create event communications, reminders, acknowledgments and followup
  • Provide closing reports for each event
  • Develop a stewardship strategy for event attendees
  • Communicate scheduling and staffing of events

Development

  • Plan, manage, and implement annual giving, and major gifts. This includes, but is not limited to: prospect identification and research, cultivation, solicitation, gift processing, acknowledgments, and stewardship.
  • Works to create a culture of philanthropy within the school.

Governance, Strategic Planning and Communications

  • Promote understanding, acceptance and support of the vision and mission statements, and objectives of the school
  • Set priorities to meet annual goals
  • Work closely with the enrollment and development committees of the board to set and achieve goals and objectives
  • Responsible for setting and maintaining professional writing and design standards for school communications. This includes, electronic communications including website and email.

Constituent Relations

  • Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and communications
  • Volunteer planning and management for key large scale functions (i.e. Annual Appeal, Gala)

Operations

  • Database management: oversee the management of databases as it relates to enrollment management and development, especially the updating and maintaining of the alumni database

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Experience in enrollment management, development, sales, marketing, and/or communications.
  • Ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for Catholic elementary education
  • Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals
  • Ability to build a team, effectively recruiting and managing volunteers for admissions activities
  • Superior communication skills, ability to conceptualize and execute strategic plans, the ability to interact confidently and effectively with school staff, students, donors, trustees, school administration, the media and alumni
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and the Internet
  • Experience in a parochial or not-for-profit environment preferred.
