St. Athanasius, Curtis Bay and St. Rose of Lima Pastorate seeks qualified candidates for a Coordinator of Children's Faith Formation. The Coordinator of Children's Faith Formation reports to and collaborates with the Pastor and is responsible for the successful operation of religious education, first communion, and first reconciliation programs. The CCFF has a thorough understanding of the Mission and Tradition of the Catholic Church. The position serves both English and Spanish speaking communities of the pastorate. This position is part-time, non-benefit eligible, working 12-15 hours per week. The coordinator will work with families on in-class and home study programs. 

Essential Functions

• Implements in-person and home study curriculum for Pre-school through 8th grade children, utilizing curriculum approved by the Archdiocese (presently including Pflaum Gospel Weeklies, Benzinger Family Life, and AOB standards and indicators for each grade level).
• Coordinates the Christmas Eve mass pageant, Vacation Bible School, and Crowning of Mary
• Recruits and trains catechists 
• Supports all policies and procedures related to the protection of children and parish safety and security plans
• Works collaboratively with the parish staff and participates in staff meetings (6 per year)
• Schedules and conducts rehearsal for Reconciliation and First Eucharist Sacramental liturgies
• Connects with families on a regular basis regarding raising their children in the faith

Position Qualifications

• Must be a practicing Catholic and demonstrate an active commitment to the Church's mission and to the sharing of that mission with children and youth
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken modalities
• Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Education, or related field/experience preferred; current advanced catechist certification preferred
• Minimum of three years work experience in a church or school setting or commensurate experience as a volunteer catechist 
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with adults and children of all ages
• Outstanding organizational skills, including time management, delegation, planning, and budgeting
• Good computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, experience in our database Ministry Platform and email via Flocknotes preferred
