JOB TITLE: Metal Fabrication Team Lead

The Metal Fabricator Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a team of metal fabricators. They will ensure that all fabrication projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and according to specifications. The Team Lead will also provide guidance and support to team members, monitor progress, and maintain a safe working environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead and supervise a team of metal fabricators, providing guidance and support as needed using CNC Lasers, Turrets, Brake Presses, Sheet Folders, Resistance Welders, Mig Welders, and Robotic Mig Welder.

- Assign tasks and projects to team members, ensuring that work is distributed evenly and completed on time.

- Monitor the progress of fabrication projects, ensuring that they are on track and meeting quality standards.

- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and production, to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.

- Train new team members on fabrication techniques, safety procedures, and company policies.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, identifying areas for improvement and recognizing achievements.

- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the fabrication process.

- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in metal fabrication.

- Execute and maintain Standardized Manufacturing instructions and Control plans.

- Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking.

- Generates daily reports for operations.

- Communications with all departments on work area related issues.

- Responsible for completing other assignments as directed by the Manufacturing Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

- Background in metal fabrication; cutting, forming and welding preferred (1yr )

- 1 year of factory related experience in the metal working industry, managing, or supervising teams of people in a production environment preferred.

- Responsible, dependable and able to lead

- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles

- Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills.

- Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)

- Able to interpret blueprints and related drawing specifications.
