What the day will look like

As part of an industry-leading litigation and contingent risk insurance brokerage team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective insurance-based solutions for clients of the Litigation Risk Group, in New York, NY, which sits within our Global Transaction Solutions Team.

  • Analyzes plaintiff- and defense-side litigation situations, including investments made by litigation funders and other investors in litigation-related assets, for application to insurance solutions.
  • Supports the team's leadership to develop Aon's value proposition and strategic plan.
  • Implements inorganic growth strategy for solution line.
  • Sells complex services/solutions to corporates, private equity firms, law firms, and litigation funders, including at the C-Suite level.
  • Identifies, develops and cultivates prospects for Aon's litigation and contingent risk solutions and positions Aon to win the work.
  • Able to influence outcomes beyond the scope of their individual function.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 3 years of experience as a corporate litigator in a large law firm and/or business litigation-focused boutique law firm
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build consensus and work collaboratively with multiple parties to a transaction.
  • Capacity for building and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Proven ability to analyze litigation-related risks and to form a view as to the likely outcome of litigation.
  • Strong written and oral communication and advocacy skills.
  • Familiarity with insurance and/or insurance litigation a plus, but not strictly necessary.
  • Federal clerkship preferred.
  • Background in commercial litigation and/or litigation funding preferred

Education: Juris Doctorate (J.D) or equivalent years of industry experience with the ability to practice law in the United States.

Pay Transparancy Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000 to $250,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
