Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with FANG or Expedia preferred
• Strong proficiency in Python, particularly for ETL processes using Pandas and PySpark
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with SQL, including complex queries and performance tuning
• Prior experience with HackerRank assessments in Python/Pandas and SQL, resulting in successful hires
• Proficiency in working with AWS cloud services, particularly in implementing lakehouse and data warehouse solutions
• Knowledge of data engineering best practices, including data modeling, ETL pipeline development, and data integration
• Experience with relational databases such as Postgres, and familiarity with cloud data platforms like Redshift, Databricks, and Snowflake
• Familiarity with React for UI development is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using Python, Pandas, and PySpark to support data warehousing and lakehouse initiatives
• Optimize and tune SQL queries for performance and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and privacy
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring data integrity and availability
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to data engineering and cloud computing
