Job DescriptionThe Recreation Assistant assists the Recreation Director with and contributes to the implementation of rehabilitative activitiy programs for the residents of the facility. Therapeutic recreational programs are designed to meet the physical, cognitive, social, psychological and spiritual needs of the resident.
Qualifications

• Prior work experience as a recreation assistant preferable
• Prior experience with residents with Dementia/Alzhiemer's preferred
• Ability to use multi-line phone system
• Ability to multitask and to cater to multiple groups at one time
• Ability to dissolve conflict, take criticism, and solve problems
• Ability to learn quickly on the job
• Assure that all residents are aware of daily actitivites through posting and distribution of the schedules, announcements, prompting and recruiting prior to activities.
