Apex Informatics is Hiring a Data Management Lead Near Lansing, MI

MDM Technical Lead will be at the forefront of addressing the complex challenges inherent in a
shared platform environment. MDM technical lead's primary responsibility will be to lead the
technical aspects of Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives, ensuring the reliability,
performance, stability, and observability of shared databases, ETL processes, and reporting
tools. MDM technical lead in his/her critical role will mitigate challenges such as resource
contention, data integrity issues, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
Collaboration, robust monitoring, clear communication, and well-defined governance processes
will be essential for success in this role.
Requirements
  • Lead the technical aspects of Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives within the
shared platform environment.
  • Design and implement robust MDM solutions to ensure reliability, performance, stability,
and observability of shared databases, ETL processes, and reporting tools.
  • Through effective MDM practices, address challenges such as resource contention, data
integrity issues, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data governance policies,
standards, and procedures within the MDM framework.
  • Implement monitoring solutions to track the health and performance of MDM processes,
enabling proactive issue identification and resolution.
  • Develop and implement change management processes to effectively handle concurrent
data access and changes, minimizing disruptions to the shared platform environment.
  • Foster collaboration among cross-functional teams involved in MDM initiatives, ensuring
clear communication and alignment of objectives.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade Qlik platform components, including QlikView Server, Qlik
Sense Server, NPrinting Server, and associated services.
  • Manage Qlik repositories, user access, security settings, and license allocation across
the Qlik environment.
  • Monitor and tune Qlik processes for optimal performance, addressing resource
contention issues and ensuring efficient utilization of shared resources.
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies and standards within the Qlik platform,
ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to optimize Qlik applications, data
models, and ETL processes for performance and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts to proactively identify and
resolve performance, stability, and observability issues within the Qlik environment.
  • Coordinate with administrators to ensure proper database configurations, indexing, and
partitioning strategies for efficient data loading and querying.
  • Implement and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions for the
Qlik platform to ensure business continuity and data protection.
  • Provide training and support to Qlik developers and users, ensuring adherence to best
practices and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with Qlik product releases, patches, and updates, and plan and execute
upgrades as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data integration, dependency
management, versioning, and change management requirements within the shared
platform environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Master's degree preferred.
  • 16 years of overall IT experience with 6 years in Master Data Management (MDM)
technical leadership roles, focusing on shared platform environments.
  • Strong understanding of MDM technologies and practices, including data modeling,
governance, and security principles.
  • Experience with MDM tools and technologies such as Informatica MDM, IBM InfoSphere
MDM, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and scalability considerations in
shared platform environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to work
effectively across diverse teams.
