Jr. Software Engineer PMAT is seeking a junior software engineer to join our team. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and applying business intelligence, analytics, data science, and data products. Technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable solutions that can manage large data sets. Must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. Must embody a passion for continuous improvement and test-driven development. Primary Responsibilities * Develop quality software solutions employing modern DevSecOps tools and methodologies utilizing an SOA and microservices approach * Provide adept recommendations to senior engineers, mentor junior engineers by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; and investigating problem areas. * Develop documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code * Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming * Understand business needs and know how to create the tools to manage them, '& protect operations by keeping information secure * Collaborate with the team to innovate and create new capabilities * Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals, be a persistent, creative problem solver, and stay on the leading edge of development practices Basic Qualifications Preferred Experience: * Familiarity with object-oriented languages and application of S.O.L.I.D. principles
• Familiarity with web services
• Familiarity with containerization
• Familiarity with Design patterns, and Test/Behavior-driven development Preferred Computer Skills/Languages: * Python, Java, or other OO language
• SQL and/or other data processing methods
• Familiarity RESTful system concepts. • Docker, Git, Ansible
• JSON, XML, YAML Preferred Certificates
: Security Clearance: Eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance; a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Counter-Intelligence Polygraph Education: Bachelor's degree in the appropriate field of study (CS, CIS, CSE) or a Bachelor's degree outside of this field with an accompanying bootcamp software development This position is remote, with a preference on candidates residing in Colorado.
