Analytical Lab Technician
Chemical lab technician in the Richmond R&D Analytical Department. The Physical Properties testing group is seeking a 6-month temp-to-hire laboratory technician. ~8:00AM - 4:30PM. Primary test responsibilities will include ICP-OES, viscosity, titrations and industry specific bench testing.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Active participant in company safety culture including following current industry and government safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform safe-and-sound laboratory practices.
• Provide back-up support for a broad range of tests with an emphasis on maintaining our highest throughput tests.
• Demonstrate flexibility in a high throughput and dynamic work environment.
• Participate in company quality procedures and maintain up to date documentation in test areas.

QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

• High school graduate, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 2 years professional chemical laboratory experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• 5 years chemical laboratory experience in industry.
• Associate degree or bachelor's degree in chemistry or related science.
• Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Safe laboratory practices and procedures.
• Basic computer literacy (i.e., Microsoft Office, Word, Excel).
• Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS).
• Ability to perform standardized laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks and changing priorities to achieve completion within the agreed-on timeframe.
• Ability to cooperate effectively with fellow analysts, researchers, and stakeholders across clients organizational matrix to achieve business objectives.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly in an engaging and convincing manner.
• Critical thinking and problem solving along with knowing when to ask for help.
