The ideal candidate will have 1 years of experience working in a CLIA-regulated lab environment and an appropriate bachelor's degree in some scientific discipline. An active MLS or MLT Certification is strongly preferred.

Shift: Monday-Friday 9 AM to 5 PM

Duration: 3 month contract (strong ability to convert to perm)

Position Description:

As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Processing specimens and performing tests.
• Following laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and reporting.
• Maintaining records of patient test results.
• Adhering to quality control policies and documenting all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
• Identifying and correcting problems that may affect test performance or reporting, or notifying the appropriate supervisor.
• Documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
• Performing high complexity testing under the direct supervision of a qualified Supervisor, as specified in the qualifications.

Required Skills:

• Experience in CLIA/CAP processing patient samples and manual molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction and qPCR.
• Proficiency in pipetting.
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, chemical, physical, or biological science with at least one year of relevant full-time laboratory experience and/or training post-graduation, OR successful completion of three years of academic study in an accredited college or university.

Desired Skills:

• Current certification or eligibility with ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) as an MLS, MT, MLT, MB, or specialist.
