Apex Systems is Hiring a Program Manager Near Redmond, WA

Duration: 12-18 month contract

Typical Day in the Role

• Purpose of the Team: This team is responsible for bringing to life any of the marketing you see as a consumer in 3rd party retail - marketing plans with partners in different regions, Instagram ads and etc. Responsible for the development and strategy of those marketing plans as well as the final leg of how these products come to life and motion of them going to market. (For ex: demo devices you experience at a counter at a store / activities is guided by their team). Need a strong program manager to understand how all these pieces work together as well as timeline management to hit launches and seasonal cycles.

• Key projects: This role will contribute to launching products - need someone who can understand how to make security as a paramount to the products - making sure things are tented and secured - ensuring security of the team and the things they do. Cadence of ownership to delivers to support all surface consumer - all internal projects, tools, reporting and etc. These are all long-term projects with ROB being 6-month launches (2 launches per year)

• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:

o Meeting heavy (about 30%) - the expectation is for them to be very engaged in meetings. They want them to be overarching the work streams and how they come together (project management aspect in

this) - attending key meetings and having thoughtfulness to hear things and take action to communicate changes to the team

o 30-40% active planning based off of meetings to contribute to ROB

o 10% heads down on project/reporting

o 20% field requests and security needs

Candidate Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field.

• Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is preferred, PMI or PMP certification preferred. Relevant experience outweighs certifications/degrees for this role.

• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on:

o Meeting deadlines as they approach launches and measuring how aware the team is of changes as it would be this person's responsibility in sending out communications (in regards to relevant meetings/projects they may be a part of)

Top 3 Hard Skills Required Years of Experience

o 1. Program Management End-to-End experience (product launch experience and end to end) 5 YOE

o 2. ROB ownership experience 5 YOE

o 3. Communication experience (Mitigation planning - ability to adapt in fast-moving environments and experience with driving conversations with teams / providing updates) 5 YOE

• Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include a standard interview.

• Required Candidate Preparation: Candidates should have resume prepared prior to the assessment.

Summary:

The main function of a non-IT program manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

• Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.

• Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

• Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

• Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

• Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.

Skills:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage ones time.

• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.

• Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.

• PMI or PMP certification preferred.

• 5-7 years experience required.
