Job Description
A Private Duty Nurse provides specialized nursing care to individuals in a private or home setting, ensuring the well-being, comfort, and safety of patients. They collaborate closely with patients, their families, and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, personalized healthcare.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate.
- Maintain and operate home medical equipment, such as ventilator, infusion pumps, or mobility aids.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical condition and treatment options.
- Manage patients' care plans and records, documenting all treatments and interventions.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients and their families.
- Monitor and report changes in a client's physical or mental health to the appropriate individual.
- Provide mobility assistance for clients who have difficulty walking or moving.
- Must have NYS License for Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required
- At least one year of experience in home care or a related field.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This role may require lifting and assisting patients with mobility, so physical fitness is important.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have a compassionate and respectful demeanor towards clients and their families.
