Sr. Manager, Payroll - US - Apex, NC
The Blueprint (Role Profile)
Reporting to the Vice President Total Rewards, this role will be responsible for Apex Tool Group's global payroll processing.Direct oversight of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls in the USA, Canada and UK currently using ADP's Global View (SAP) and Streamline platforms and will lead our transformation to ADP Celergo in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Germany, and Hungary.This individual will be a consummate payroll professional with broad experience processing payroll in an SAP and Cloud based environment for multi-site and preferably multi-national clients.Additionally, this role will manage ATG's relationship with ADP, manage time and collection systems, electronic file management and the Total Rewards ticketing system.Responsible for payroll disbursements of approximately $500 million annually.
The Build (Responsibilities)
*Oversee global payroll processing, time collection, reporting, auditing, and data analytics.
*Oversee day to day payroll operations in USA, Canada and UK ensuring accuracy of data through pre-processing audits, timely payment, post processing review and signoff.
*Experience working with international payrolls.
*Oversee auditing and compliance globally.
*Assist HR community and payroll administrators globally with research and resolution of payroll/time related issues.
*Assist in managing our HCM solution, Success Factors, including projects with all modules including Employee Central, Compensation, Recruiting and On / Off Boarding.
*Drive process improvements focused on simplification and cost reduction.
*Supervise and coach payroll professionals on direct and indirect team.
*Coordinate multi step year end process, assign to Associate, and ensure all tasks are completed in regard to W2/T4 processing and reconciliation.
*Develop simple to use tools for training and process documentation.
*Respond to associate and governmental requests as necessary.
*Maintain process documentation and procedures in an accurate and current state.
*Develop and implement best practices, key performance indicators and SLA metrics for the team.
*Maintain current knowledge of applicable, US & Canadian provincial, federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, and make payroll process updates as necessary.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
*BS in Accounting/Finance/Management required or equivalent work experience.
*3-5 years payroll leadership experience including experience with global payrolls.
*Proficient in Microsoft software.
*Extensive experience with ADP Payroll systems including strong working knowledge of ADP Celergo, Smart Compliance and ADP Time and Attendance.
*Deep working knowledge of Human Resources systems and related reporting.
*Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
*Experience with Canadian and other multinational payroll practices preferred.
*Prior Success Factors experience preferred.
