Secondaries Strategy Overview:The fast-growing but tight-knit secondaries team at Apogem invests in both LP- and GP-led transactions in the middle market in North America. The team collaborates closely with the rest of the Apogem organization to provide differentiated liquidity solutions to the private markets.
Role Overview:The secondaries team is hiring an analyst to support its full functions including transactions, portfolio analytics, investor relations, and internal processes. The candidate will interact closely with all members of the secondaries team as well as other teams at Apogem and actively participate in transaction processes across multiple industries.
What You’ll Do:
  • Manage internal databases, review and analyze potential investments, and coordinate screening efforts
  • Conduct due diligence as part of the underwriting process for potential investments, including financial modeling, industry/sector research, operating analysis, sponsor track record analysis, ESG review, and other qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Prepare internal communications and presentations, including intake / screening memos, investment committee materials, meeting notes, and other deliverables
  • Support the senior investment team in sourcing opportunities and the evaluation and execution of secondary private equity transactions
  • Partner with team members on the execution and maintenance of key operational initiatives and marketing efforts
  • Support portfolio management workstreams including monitoring investment performance, managing internal database systems, and other processes used for tracking KPIs, reporting, data management, etc.
  • Work and collaborate effectively with teams across the Apogem organization
What You’ll Bring: We are looking for candidates who are self-starters, team players, have strong technical and communications skills, and bring a growth mindset and a can-do attitude to our workplace.
  • 1-2 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance / restructuring, valuation, or transaction advisory services
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or STEM majors with a competitive GPA
  • Strong financial modeling, accounting, and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic, problem solving and organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to continued professional development and “on-the-job” learning
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented culture
Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
