Apollo Heating & Air, a growth-oriented HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractor, is hiring a General Manager in Akron, Ohio

OPPORTUNITY

As our Controller, you will manage the company’s day-to-day finance and accounting operations in a high-volume home services environment. Reporting to our various stakeholders, use your financial expertise to provide oversight of accounting procedures, internal controls, and full cycle accounting management. Establish and implement financial policies, manage daily transactional data, and prepare annual budgets and forecasts. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a key member of the management team. Create a strong system of procedures and financial reporting that sets a high standard in residential home services that will continue to elevate Apollo to the next level of growth.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead, manage, and support your accounting and administrative team.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements with a 7-day closing standard.
• Manage transactional accounting activities, prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations, and perform operating expense analysis.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts and report significant variances to management.
• Monitor and report weekly on key performance indicators to identify and report trends in the business from an operational and financial perspective.
• Develop and monitor policies and procedures to provide insightful financial reporting.
• Using your knowledge of database systems, install and monitor financial controls within various integrated data systems and reporting functions.
• Provide payroll process oversight and guidance to other HR related functions.
• Oversight for job costing, inventory management, and related audit controls.
• Interface and collaborate effectively with other departments (service, dispatch, fleet, customer service, purchasing) to evaluate the financial impact of their activities.
• Manage the company’s yearly financial audit.

SUCCESS FACTORS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or a similar business degree.
• 5 years of managerial accounting experience as a controller, accounting manager, CFO, or similar role.
• Advanced competency in financial management and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, ADP.)
• Familiarity with industry related CRM software (ServiceTitan, SuccessWare21) is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Solid experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Driven to achieve results in a high transactional consumer-oriented environment.
• Prefer residential home service industry experience (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related technical trade operations.)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Apollo will reward your financial talents with a salary of $110-120K based on your strengths and experience level. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, & vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, and PTO.
