Apollo Mechanical Contractors is Hiring a Delivery Driver / Expeditor - Pasco, WA Near Pasco, WA
Duties/Responsibilities
* Driving, loading, and unloading trailers.
* Driving fabricated material and tools between jobsites.
* Basic vehicle maintenance.
* General shop clean-up and organization.
* Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick-up route for the day.
* Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
* Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
* Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
* Assists in general warehouse duties when the delivery route is completed.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Reports major shipping problems to purchasing agent.
* Inspects shipments to confirm that products received meet specifications.
* Maintains business relationships with suppliers to ensure their assistance if an unexpected event requires expedited shipping of an order.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
* Ability to drive large trucks.
* Ability to pull 20' flatbed trailers.
* Ability to move materials weighing up to 35 lbs. with or without accommodation.
* Responsible
* Willing to learn.
* Ability to drive safely.
* Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
* Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
* Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
* Ability to remain professional and courteous at all times.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
* Forklift experience preferred.
