Software Engineer II

Applause is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team. Here at Applause we create and maintain the heart of our business – a platform that enables our hundreds of thousands of in-the-wild testers to provide quick and meaningful feedback to some of the world’s largest companies.

As an Engineer at Applause you will:

● Work directly with a feature-focused team to extend existing product capabilities, implement and improve features, and have a real and immediate impact on our users

● Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to refine requirements

● Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code

● Own features across the stack and from development to production

● Use the following languages/tools/technologies, among others

○ Java, Spring, Hibernate

○ NodeJS, TypeScript, Angular

○ MySql, ElasticSearch

○ Docker, Kubernetes

○ Git

Requirements:

● 3 years’ experience building commercial software

● BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

● Full-stack experience

● Proficient in Java or in a similar object-oriented language. Experience with Spring is a plus.

● Experience with a UI framework such as Angular and/or related web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)

● Experience with relational databases and writing SQL

● Customer-focused, driven, and passionate about creating premier experiences through well-designed, tested, and maintainable code-bases.

● Always looking to learn and improve – independent self-learners who love to share what they find.

● Ability to work on complex projects independently and as part of a team

● Team-oriented problem solver with strong communication and interpersonal skills
