Job Overview: The Night Shift Assistant Print Operator is responsible for supporting the print production process during the night shift. This role involves assisting with the setup, operation, and maintenance of printing machinery to ensure efficient and high-quality production. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be mechanically inclined, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Machine Setup and Operation: Assist in the setup and operation of printing machines according to job specifications, ensuring that all materials are correctly loaded and that machines are properly calibrated. Quality Control: Monitor print jobs to ensure they meet the required quality standards, performing spot checks and making adjustments as needed. Material Handling: Load and unload printing materials, such as paper, ink, and other supplies, ensuring that the correct materials are used for each job. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment, such as cleaning and lubricating parts. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues, escalating to the Lead Print Operator when necessary.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job tickets, machine settings, and maintenance logs. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Print Operator and other team members to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of print jobs. Inventory Management: Assist in tracking inventory levels of printing supplies and notify the appropriate personnel when reordering is necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Previous experience in a print production environment is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Skills: Basic mechanical skills and the ability to operate machinery. Strong attention to detail and quality control. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Basic computer skills for entering job details and tracking production.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs). Ability to work in a noisy environment with exposure to ink, solvents, and other chemicals. Availability: Must be available to work the night shift, including weekends and holidays if required.
