Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Fiscal Analyst to join our team. This role involves working with a certain project and technical schools for accounts, managing monthly billing, and handling various financial responsibilities. The ideal candidate must be comfortable taking direction from multiple sources and possess strong skills in QuickBooks and Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial accounting and payment systems
- Review and maintain accounting systems
- Develop and manage collaborative accountability systems with Department Heads.
- Implement, review, and manage current accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee all financial reports and recommend improvements for efficiency.
- Manage the budgets, including table maintenance, report design, cost allocation, fiscal year-end closing, and annual scholarship projections.
- Serve as a liaison between the programs/partners, coordinating data exchanges
- Prepare monthly reimbursement reports and maintain accurate data entry of accounts.
- Process purchase orders for scholarships and reimbursement for tuition, books, travel, and work release time.
- Manage the program checking and accounting system in accordance with audit requirements.
- Analyze, prepare, and distribute financial and fiscal reports for internal and external use.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable/cash disbursements, including invoice records, purchase requests, computer postings, and ledgers.
- Establish and maintain a database to track scholarships awarded.
- Implement and review policies and procedures, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Serve as the key Department Financial Advisor, providing recommendations and adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Develop and direct training for staff in the use of financial accounting systems.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience with QuickBooks and Excel.
- High level of organization and the ability to keep a schedule.
- Strong communication skills, particularly through email.
- Patience and the ability to manage slow-moving processes.
- Ability to stay on track and follow up effectively.
Skills and Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of financial and accounting systems.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in managing financial transactions.
- Strong understanding of policies, procedures, and regulations related to financial management.
- Excellent ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with people from various backgrounds.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining accurate financial records.
