Company that is looking to hire a true leader in their accounting department within Plant Operations. Someone that can be a valued asset on their management team.

• Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. - Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
• Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments. - Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
• Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. - Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. - Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
• Ensures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department
• Measure and optimize working capital through the timing of purchases, payments, and cash receipts
• Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
• Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
• Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Establish and maintain a system of internal controls over accounting transactions
• Issue timely and complete financial statements and related operational metrics
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
• Oversee month end closing process, including journal entries, analysis, reconciliations, and attestation
• Oversee weekly cash management; approve weekly payables; execute check signing
• Provide financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly unaudited statements
• Participate in preparation and review of annual audited statements
• Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
• Comply with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
