Direct Hire - Senior Tax Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our client's dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of tax regulations and compliance, with a strong ability to handle complex tax issues and contribute to strategic tax planning. This role is critical in ensuring our company’s tax practices are accurate, efficient, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance and Reporting:

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax forms and payments.
• Handle multi-state tax compliance and reporting.

Tax Planning and Advisory:

• Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
• Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for tax savings.
• Advise management on the impact of new tax laws and proposed legislation.

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure proper tax accounting and reconciliation of tax-related accounts.

Audit and Examination:

• Manage tax audits and inquiries from various tax authorities.
• Prepare and present documentation to support tax positions during audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors and consultants as necessary.

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of tax compliance and reporting.
• Develop and maintain tax policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in tax preparation software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
