Position : Desktop Support Technician
Location : Based in North Charleston, with travel required to various locations
Schedule : Mon-Fri, 8 : 30am-5 : 00pm
Salary : $20 per hour
Job Overview :
We are seeking a flexible and task-oriented Desktop Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist agency staff with device management, installation, and troubleshooting, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of IT systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist with receipt of device packages, validation with packing slips and purchase orders, and documentation using Agency processes for Asset Management.
Label and track assets through the deployment process.
Install devices into Active Directory, configure operating systems and software, and perform configuration testing.
Install systems at desk side and ensure proper setup and functionality.
Provide customer and system support, diagnose and resolve technical and software issues, and perform problem resolution with support team and vendor.
Work with Agency staff to identify issues and create resolutions for technical and business process issues.
Follow Agency IT standards, policies, and procedures to prioritize and schedule workload and implementation.
Required Skills :
Proficiency with Windows 10
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
System imaging skills
Preferred Skills : A Certification
A Certification
MS System Center experience
BMC FootPrints knowledge
Dell Tech Direct certification
Windows 10 Enterprise expertise
Additional Requirements :
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional work outside traditional business hours.
Capability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Travel to various locations as needed, with travel expenses reimbursed.
Strong understanding of device management, customer support, and troubleshooting in a networked environment.
Ability to follow prescribed processes and procedures and assist in process improvement.
Professional demeanor, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Task-oriented, with the ability to pivot and handle challenges and changes in a new agency.
Work Environment :
Office environment with a level of professionalism expected in dress code and conduct.
Travel required to support tier II desktop support and troubleshoot software / hardware issues.
