Support the Every Child Ready curriculum with targeted ELL interventions from the ELL curriculum at assigned campuses
Administer the Pre-IPT assessment for English Language Learners in accordance to OSSE regulations twice a year
Evaluate data, determine goals, and track progress of individual English language learners and communicate information to families, staff and other stakeholders
Maintain ELL records in accordance with the ELL Policy
Complete Individual Goal Plans (IGP) and quarterly report cards for ELL students.
Provide direct ELL instruction to small groups of students and/or provide inclusion support dependent on student caseload
Work specifically with ELL students during assigned periods of the day to support the access of the ECR curriculum and to build language skills
Observe teachers and students and provide supportive feedback.
Advise teachers on modifying/accommodating curriculum for ELL students and share best practices to ensure high quality instruction is provided
Use assessment data to refine the delivery of the curriculum and to inform instructional practices
Coach General Educators with best practices for ELL students in the inclusion classroom
Commitment to continual professional growth, participating actively in department meetings, faculty meetings, and other meetings including Summer Institute
What we’re looking for…
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; Master’s degree preferred
Passing score on the ESL Praxis
Minimum of three years teaching experience in an urban public or charter school required
Minimum of one year teaching experience as an ESL teacher in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom
Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to be able to work independently and be a self-starter
Commitment to self-reflection and active learning
Proven ability to manage caseload and workday
Candidate must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to multiple campuses
