Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Cloud Database Developer/Admin proficient in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based databases on AWS. This role involves designing and maintaining robust, scalable database solutions to support our applications and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration:
  • Manage and maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases on AWS.
  • Perform database monitoring, tuning, and optimization to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Ensure database security by implementing appropriate access controls and monitoring.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  • Design and deploy database solutions using AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
  • Utilize AWS tools and services (EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.) to support database operations.
  • Automate database tasks using AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, and other automation tools.
Development and Support:
  • Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas and optimize queries.
  • Support database-related issues and provide solutions to application teams.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, schemas, and configuration.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest AWS services and database technologies.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for database management and cloud infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular database audits and performance reviews to identify improvement areas.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration and development.
  • Proven experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.
  • Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, particularly RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including administration and query optimization.
  • Experience with MySQL database management and configuration.
  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certified Database - Specialty or other relevant AWS certifications a must
  • Experience with database migration services such as AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker).
