As a Field Sales and Service Technician at Applied Industrial Technologies, you will perform a variety of duties consisting of sales and field service to help support end users and the customer base. You will be responsible for supporting a sales territory to maintain and grow business for our customers field service needs. You will also be responsible to work alongside current Applied Industrial Technologies salesmen to quote and win field service jobs as well as work independently to generate new business. Applied Industrial Technologies will ensure that you receive, ongoing training and will provide you with solid feedback and support to reach both the company and your personal goals. Your work, both individually and as part of a team, will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and bottom line results!

Job responsibilities to include but no limited to:

• Estimate, quote and support the sale of field service jobs to Applied Industrial Technologies customers
• Seek new sales opportunities
• Work alongside fellow salesmen to quote and sell jobs
• Install and fabricate conveyor components
• Build / repair belts and rubber components
• Install, mechanically splice and vulcanize lightweight and heavyweight conveyor belting
• Perform duties to fabricate, install and repair conveyor belting, conveyor systems, belt scrapers,and other industrial components
• Initiate procedures, which comply with OSHA/MSHA requirements specifically regarding safety issues and use of safety equipment and tools
• Detect and report defective equipment, material and any improper operations or unusual conditions
• Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations; maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition
• Pick up and deliver orders, stock/product, and supplies for jobs you are a part of and supporting.
• Ability to network within territory to pull in extra personnel resources as needed to complete an install/service job

Requirements

• 3 yr proven experience in field service work, maintenance, or other hands on work
• Metal fabrication and welding/torch experience, further training will be offered to further develop skills
• Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail
• Strong mechanical background
• Basic math skills and computer skills
• Strong communication skills written and verbal including use of proper English and grammar
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, as well as ability to work at heights and tight spaces
• Overtime hours and weekend work may be required
• Up to 20% travel away from home including overnight (Dependent upon customer needs and where you book jobs. Primary territory is 60 mile radius around Indianapolis, IN)
• Maintenance, fabricating, conveyor component installation, belt tech experience preferred
• Self-starter, self-motivated, and willingness to take on tasks of all types to get the job done
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent education
