DescriptionBay Medical Management LLC (BMMLLC) is a medical services organization (MSO) headquartered in Walnut Creek, CA. The organization provides administrative and management services to Bay Imaging Consultants Medical Group (BIC) who is the premier radiology group in Northern California.
RequirementsSUMMARY OF POSITION: BMMLLC is seeking a full-time Health Information Services Technician to perform teleradiology support for BIC Radiologists. This is an evening and overnight position 3:30pm – 2:00am Thursday – Sunday. 80% remote after successful completion of the first 90 days of onsite training in Walnut Creek. The Health Information Services Technician coordinates incoming radiology exams to facilitate efficient review and reporting by the radiologist and dissemination of the results to the appropriate clinical staff and physicians. Using multiple computer systems, the Health Information Services Technician inputs and retrieves patient information from stored databases as well as provides telephone support for all facilities, support staff, clinicians, and radiologists regarding radiologist services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Processes incoming exams, paperwork, and phone calls from contracted hospitals and outpatient imaging centers.
- Monitors worklists and filters within the appropriate BIC and hospital based systems.
- Prepares exams for radiologist interpretation: includes verifying exam & clinical information, receipt of relevant priors, exceptions are fixed if necessary and all pertinent studies are linked for electronic reading.
- Appropriately prioritizes exams and assigns to radiologists as needed to meet required turnaround times.
- Sends all preliminary radiology reports to Imaging Departments, ER, IP units, urgent care, and other clinics via Fax and/or PacsSCAN. Call IP units to verify receipt of radiology reports.
- Answers and prioritizes multiple incoming calls for Code Strokes, Traumas, and or critical findings and distribute to radiologists as needed. Initiates phone calls for radiologist as requested.
- Assign Mammography, Neurology, CT, X-ray, and Ultrasound exams in Clario.
- Consistently and proactively monitors and responds to email and instant messaging on multiple platforms including Sectra and Teams.
- Acts as liaison between radiologists, sites and the internal BMMI IT department and contacts Bay Medical and Hospital IT staff when needed.
- Assists the After Hours Health Information Technician Lead in training After Hours Health Information Technicians on the procedures and system used.
- Performs a variety of clerical tasks, including emailing and faxing.
- Uses multiple computer systems to input, retrieve and print patient information.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- AA Degree and/or 2 years acute health care experience, preferably in a radiology setting.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Excellent computer/keyboard skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to multi-task and work in a high pace clinical/hospital environment
