Position Description

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Application Developer to join our software development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications for our clients. The role requires proficiency in mobile app development frameworks and a keen understanding of user experience principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with product experts, User Interface (UI) designers, and engineers to fully understand business requirements.
  • Break down business requirements into clear and actionable tasks, turning them into clean, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to implement, test, and deliver robust software.
  • Research new technologies, methodologies, and practices to participate in discussions about feasibility and need.
  • Follow established design and development documentation and controls to ensure quality products and services.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members, as necessary.
  • Lead projects and guide team members to achieve set goals.
  • On-time Delivery:
    • Measure the percentage of projects completed within the scheduled timeline to ensure timely delivery of mobile applications.
  • App Performance:
    • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics such as app load time, response time, and crash rate to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • User Satisfaction.
    • Collect feedback from users through surveys or reviews and track satisfaction scores to gauge the quality of mobile applications.
  • Bug Fixing Time:
    • Measure the average time taken to identify and resolve bugs reported in mobile applications to ensure prompt bug fixing and enhance user experience.
  • Code Quality:
    • Assess code quality metrics such as code coverage, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards to ensure robust and scalable mobile applications.

Performance objectives:

Within your first 30 days:

  • Learn about Applied’s mission and vision and take part in a variety of Applied Learning foundational courses.
  • Discuss your goals and expectations with your team leader(s) and read and review all relevant team resources and materials. 
  • Immerse yourself in team meetings and discussions. 

Within 60 days:

  • Exhibit a strong technical understanding of the product line(s) and/or projects. 
  • Support team meetings and agendas. 
  • Take on one or more projects that require low to moderate guidance.

Within 90 days to one year:

  • Develop interpersonal connections and relationships with others to effectively accomplish project objectives and deliverables. 
  • Lead moderate to complex projects with minimal guidance or direction. 
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Applied’s Quality Management System and effectively troubleshoot challenges or obstacles that may affect project timelines.
  • Handle a variety of projects on your own.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time software engineering experience in a mobile application development language, such as Java, Objective C, Dart, or JavaScript.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience developing cross-platform or native mobile applications.
  • Experience designing and implementing mobile back-end services.
  • Knowledge of publishing mobile applications and managing releases.
  • Skilled with cloud infrastructure and deployment, such as Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with design and maintenance of relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of writing unit, integration, and End-to-End (E2E) testing.
  • Comfortable in a UNiplexed Information Computing System (UNIX) shell environment.
  • Comfortable using Git.
