Health Promotion for Faculty and Staff is a division of the Appalachian Institute for Health and Wellness which serves Appalachian State University's Faculty, Staff, Retirees, and Spouses. Our primary purpose is to promote employee wellness through health and wellness education, facilitate exercise facilities, provide preventative screenings, and work with campus partners to build a culture of wellness for all.This position works closely with the Director of Health Promotion for Faculty and Staff in advising Appalachian State University employees on a variety of fitness and health-related topics. This person will develop, coordinate, and lead individual and group health and wellness programming. This individual maintains comprehensive reports for all fitness activities and health/educational programming and works within health-related software systems to organize and utilize health information to work with clients. This position maintains open communication between all staff, participants, university departments, and local physicians through emails, direct conversation/meetings and announcements.Additional duties of this position include supervision of part-time staff; CPR Skills Checks, and working closely with AppWell Directors to implement and manage new and existing programs.
