You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it. We seek a Robotics Engineer – Next-Gen Systems to provide multidisciplinary support for the development of robots from prototype to product. You will perform conceptual hardware/software design, technical analysis, research, and physics-based simulation of next-gen robotic systems. You will perform engineering trade studies to inform system architectural decisions. You are expected to be a technical "Swiss Army Knife" in the engineering fields needed to develop robots, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and software disciplines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform first-principles engineering analysis of robotic systems to map the quantitative balance between multi-dimensional performance, cost, and lead times
Generate conceptual designs of next-gen systems
Perform physics-based simulations of complex kinematic/dynamic mechanisms
Research/analyze sub-system interface definitions, specifications, and APIs
Document the above
Skills And Requirements
Mechanical: Kinematics, dynamics, machine design, 3D CAD
Controls: Closed-loop control, linear systems analysis, state estimation
Software: Python, C , and ROS
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Robotics or related field
At least 3 years of experience in robotic/automated system development
