Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Acoustics Systems Engineer position that just opened in Manassas, VA. In this role you will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the design and development of submarine acoustic systems and directly contribute to the technical success of our programs through hands-on technical contributions, leadership and management of an engineering team To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or similar plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. You must also have an active Secret Security Clearance. Location: Manassas, VA Position: Senior Acoustics Systems Engineer Contract: 24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent Pay: $94.57/hour Schedule: Hybrid NOTE: MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE We are looking for a Senior Acoustics Systems Engineer. You will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the design and development of submarine acoustic systems and directly contribute to the technical success of our programs through hands-on technical contributions, leadership and management of an engineering team. Duties and Tasks: -Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. -Performs technical activities which impact the proposal, system level design, detail design and manufacture of advanced electronics systems. -Oversees operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. -Reviews project status and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. -Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet client-satisfaction goals and objectives. -Leads development of strategic tasks or small projects by applying engineering and organizational knowledge and expertise to achieve technical goals and objectives. -Understands and interprets the technical, organizational and process aspects of the task assigned and can relate them to the technical needs of the overall large project. -Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering tasks or small projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. -Actively uncovers technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk mitigation plans. -Participates in engineering development of program strategies and teaming strategies as they relate to the assigned task. -Drives continuous improvement throughout the group and processes. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10 years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred. -Strong ability to lead, mentor, and motivate experienced technical staff. -Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience. -Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects. -Team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others. -Motivated to drive innovation in design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design. -Experienced in technical project and program management. -Effectively communicates technical and programmatic matters to senior level management, program offices, and internal/external stakeholders. -Experience in analysis of complex acoustic and/or vibration applications and installations on submarines. -Has respect of peers and colleagues for technical and management credibility.
