APS Building Services is Hiring a Commercial Plumbing Estimator - Houston Near Houston, TX

Pay Range: $35-39/hr

Education / Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Journeyman/ Master Plumbing License

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years successful experience in Plumbing industry, including field work, supervision, and estimating.

Position Overview:

This position's primary function is to ensure high customer satisfaction by instilling APS company vision, mission, and core values. The Project Manager must communicate and coordinate with the Director of Project Management and the project team to ensure the sales team is being supported, staff is assigned daily on projects, materials/ equipment are in hand and projects are manage so that we provide exceptional customer service. Required to be accessible at extended hours. Works under minimal supervision. This position reports to the Director of Project Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports for duty on time, ready to work, at assigned work location, on a daily basis.
  • Provide estimates to account managers by meeting with customers, selecting equipment, gathering blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Coordinates site walks with Account Manager and customers to gather information for proposals and to provide value options to the customers.
  • Stay current with local codes
  • Create proposals for account manager for them to submit to customers.
  • Work with local permit departments for inspections
  • Order and verify materials and equipment required for projects
  • Works effectively with team to complete projects/repairs timely and safely with no errors or defects.
  • Coordinates schedule needs with Plumbing team and ensures staffing is assigned and scheduled to accomplish work as stated in the contract.
  • Participate in assigning team members to match job needs.
  • Accurately and timely assigns teams to jobs/projects each day based on contract.
  • Monitor cost and progress of projectsto ensure profit margins are maintained or increased.
  • Identify additional work and provide change orders to customer for approval so workflow will continue.
  • Keep account manager and plumbing team updated as to the needs or status of projects progress.
  • Safely and effectively uses tools and equipment.
  • Make sure the APS and site safety programs are followed on the job
  • Communicates clearly with client and management re: new and current projects, equipment status and strategy for repair or requirement for replacement.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
  • Manage flow and transmittal of wireless job files to assure timely billing; may be daily or weekly, as appropriate.
  • Follows company process submitting reports and data for invoicing.
  • At job completion, be sure equipment has been added to customer, startup sheets are complete and warranty information is added.
  • Evaluate overall profit of projects when complete. Documenting any issues or things we learned on the work order notes.
  • Obtain customer feedback regarding APS service capabilities.
  • Evaluate department personnel performance and provide accurate feedback on performance, capabilities, and all aspects of work performance.
  • Meets with Director of Plumbing Operations, sales team and Operations Manager weekly to report/discuss job progress, issues/conflicts to determine need for upper management involvement.
  • Support Sales as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required.
