The Tasks Include
- Reviewing hardware designs to ensure they meet the Safety requirements for the program.
- Developing safety documents to support customer and test/operational range requirements.
- Performing audits of operational areas and reporting on the effectiveness of system safety program.
- Evaluating the interrelationship of system safety requirements and other aspects of concept design.
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 1 year with a Master's Degree in a science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or closely related technical discipline.
- Experience working with Test Range Requirements (91-710, RCC, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The candidate must have Electrical/Mechanic Engineering Design, System Integration, or Missile/Aircraft operational/maintenance experience.
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret clearance obtained within the last 6 years
- Safety engineering experience
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E
- Electrical and/or mechanic engineering experience
- Software engineering experience
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
- Experience with C/C , Java, object-oriented design, or similar experience
- Launch vehicle or weapon experience
- Active Top Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a workstation / desk
- Ability to lift >15 lbs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgement
- Work attire must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk / hazard to the employee or others
