Aptive Resources Llc. is Hiring a Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) Near Decatur, GA
Shifts: Nurses can expect to work eight (8), ten (10), or twelve (12) hour shifts, or a combination, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Primary ResponsibilitiesPatient Care:
- Assume patient care assignments for groups of patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide care for patients requiring special precautions such as isolation.
- Perform complex wound dressing care and maintenance.
- Provide psychological support to patients as indicated.
- Insert and maintain peripheral lines.
- Maintain central lines for the administration of intravenous fluids.
- Administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous) and blood products.
- Provide emergency care as indicated.
- Perform phlebotomy and bedside testing.
- Verify physician orders.
- Complete and accurately document patient care according to facility/unit policies.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to facilitate positive patient care outcomes.
- Ensure nursing care complies with accepted standards of care and clinical practice.
- Maintain certifications and continue professional development.
- Adhere to safety protocols and utilize proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years current experience in a long-term care setting. Must have worked within the last six months.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field, or a Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field is highly preferred.
- Proficient in long-term care nursing practices and procedures.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex patient care.
- Ability to perform under pressure in emergency situations.
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
- Team-oriented with a focus on collaborative patient care.
- Ability to complete and successfully pass any required government background check
