Our client, coveted beauty brand in NYC is searching for a Packaging Designer to join their amazing in-house Creative Team. First and foremost – you are a graphic designer who loves all things packaging with a keen eye for layout, color, type, imagery and patterns. iIllustration skills are a big plus, and if they have 3D experience as well that's a plus too!.

They will love you if, you are conceptual, self-driven and hands-on through to project delivery.

-Graphic/Packaging designer to create package designs for skincare launches, seasonal programs, collateral, gift sets – experience in Beauty/Luxury industry a plus but not required.

-Must be able to take ownership of projects from inception through production including final mechanicals.

-Follow and uphold brand guidelines and work within the brand codes, however you can (and we encourage you to) push boundaries an experiment within our creative sandbox.

-Exceptional at rendering concepts in AI or Photoshop – retouching capabilities are a must, organized with meticulous attention to details.

-Team player who is comfortable working with both creative and cross functional team members.

-Attend meetings, work directly with project manager on project needs and timelines

-Effective verbal and written communicator

-ALL designers are expected to work on everything from line extensions, basic mechanicals to larger global hallmark programs. Leave egos at the door.

-Self-starter who is able to manage their own time– will be part a team but needs to have the ambition to keep things moving.

-Timelines are tight and there are very quick turn-around - we are looking for someone who can

keep a cool head and is able to function in high-pressure situations.

-Must have a great eye for color – able to review and provide feedback on color proofs, color matching samples etc…

Qualifications:

-Graphic designer with at least 5 years of experience

-Portfolio demonstrates branding/graphic and packaging designs – show work relevant but not limited to the Luxury Beauty/Fashion market

-Proficient in mechanical creation and typesetting

-Exceptional knowledge of print, file preparation for print and on-press experience

-Expert in Adobe Creative Suites - Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign

-Meticulous 2D rendering and concept retouching capabilities are a must

-Comfortable and familiarity creating DTO’s (Design Turn-Overs) – be able to visualize packagingstructures and construction and translate

-Illustration, hand drawing or pattern creation skills a plus

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $50 to $55 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
