Arab American Family Support Center is Hiring a Mental Health Clinical Supervisor (Part-Time) Near Brooklyn, NY

JOB TITLE: Mental Health Clinical Supervisor
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-Time (15 hours per week)
REPORTS TO: Mental Health Program Manager/VP of Community Programs
LOCATION: City-Wide
SALARY: $75-$85/hr (salary commensurate with experience)
ABOUT AAFSC:The Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC) is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization established in 1994 to provide culturally and linguistically competent, trauma-informed social services. Our mission is to empower immigrants and refugees with the tools they need to acclimate successfully to the world around them and become active participants in their communities. While our doors are open to all,?AAFSC has developed cultural and linguistic?expertise?in?serving members of NYC’s Arab, Middle Eastern, North African, Muslim, and South Asian (AMENAMSA) immigrant and refugee communities.?AAFSC promotes?mental and physical well-being and community power. We ensure families are knowledgeable about their rights and equipped to?participate?in civic society with confidence and security. We?help?prevent child abuse,?and work to end domestic- and gender-based violence. We?provide?the tools for learners of every age to succeed. JOB SUMMARY:The Mental Health Clinical Supervisor demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes trauma-informed practices, including emotional intelligence, effective communication, understanding of the impact of trauma on development, strengths-based and person-centered practice, resilience focus, and commitment to growth and change. The Clinical Supervisor has a background in evidence-based practice, and working with teams to incorporate evidence-based practices into case and program practice is highly desirable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct monthly team meetings on the first Monday of each month to discuss updates to admin tasks, programs, etc.
Manage waitlist referral process and caseload assignments
Supervise clinical staff (LMSW, MHC-LP) weekly for clinical supervision, one hour each supervision
Supervise all clinical staff weekly for administrative supervision, including but not limited to caseload management, referral assignments, and administrative tasks, 30 minutes each supervision
Clinically attend to any clinical issues or questions that come up for cases
Audit and sign all clinical documentation on the Theranest portal weekly for supervised clinical staff
Conduct biweekly group consultations for staff to discuss and process clinical questions
Grants management-related reporting
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Must have at least 8-10 years of supervisory experience.
Must hold an LCSW, LCSW-R, or PhD./Psy.D.
Demonstrates commitment to being trauma-informed and maintaining a therapeutic environment and community that promotes safety and nonviolence as the basis for all we do with clients and staff.
Demonstrates knowledge and utilization of trauma-informed practices, including emotional intelligence, effective communication, understanding of the impact of trauma on development, strengths-based and person-centered practice, resilience focus, and commitment to growth and change.
A background in evidence-based practice and working with teams to incorporate evidence-based practices into case and program practice is highly desirable.
Demonstrates cultural competency or a willingness to learn about the cultural backgrounds of our community members, many of whom identify as Arab, Middle Eastern, North African Muslim, and/or South Asian (AMENAMSA).
Fosters a strengths-based, trauma-informed, accountable, committed, and motivated environment.
Excellent writing skills; strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to properly and accurately maintain electronic case notes and filing systems.
Must be able to exercise initiative, independent good judgment, flexibility, discretion, and solid decision-making.
Must be able to maintain client confidentiality.
Must be able to work collaboratively with all layers of the organization.
Passion for AAFSC’s mission and vision.
U.S. Work Authorization is required.
