This growing plastics business is seeking a Production Engineer to join a dynamic team. The Production Engineer will be responsible for optimizing and overseeing the manufacturing processes in our plastics production facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Optimization:

• Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality.

Equipment Management:

• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop preventive maintenance schedules and minimize downtime.

Quality Assurance:

• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct root cause analysis for any quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Production Planning:

• Collaborate with the production team to develop and execute production schedules that meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to support production schedules.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Collect and analyze production data to track performance metrics and identify trends.
• Prepare and present reports on production performance, including recommendations for improvements.

Health and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the production facility.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards.

Continuous Improvement:

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects, to drive operational excellence.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in plastics manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Production Engineer in the plastics industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, including injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding.
• Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
