Summary:
Arbor Lodging Partners seeks a Vice President of Investments to join its growing investment team. The position will be based in our Chicago corporate headquarters and report directly to the CIO.
Arbor Lodging's corporate team is in office Monday - Thursday, with the option to work remote on Friday.
In this vital role, the Vice President of Investments will oversee acquisitions and debt investment opportunities in the lodging space and will be responsible for deal sourcing, managing negotiations, conducting due diligence, presenting internally to the team and externally to investment partners and lenders, overseeing investment structuring, leading the closing process, and participating in asset management through the investment life cycle. This work will contribute directly to the continued growth and development of Arbor Lodging's industry-leading investment and management platform.
Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Generate new equity and debt investment opportunities (both brokered and off-market)
• Manage investment underwriting and analysis
• Assist in negotiations and execution of transaction related documents and work closely with legal counsel
• Oversee due diligence relating to new investments, including the review of business plans, third party reports, title/survey, historical financial statements, vendor contracts, and market research
• Manage relationships with investment partners and assist in procuring asset-level debt financing
• Work with asset management and operations teams to execute business plans
• Mentor and manage junior team members
• Monitor and analyze the financial performance of investments
• Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations
• Maintain and develop a strong network of contacts throughout the hospitality industry.

Qualifications:

• 6-10 years of experience, including a background in underwriting or structuring complex hotel transactions at an investment firm, investment bank, developer, or brokerage firm
• Experience in sourcing, negotiations and relationship building
• Deep industry network
• Experience navigating joint venture and operating partner relationships
• Knowledge of investment documentation process
• Exceptional knowledge of asset level and portfolio modeling mechanics and real estate data sources
• Outstanding academic credentials and demonstrated leadership capabilities
• Strong work ethic and integrity; candidate should be a team player who is proactive and self-motivated
