Who We Need:

The Assistant Director of Vocational Services plays a pivotal role on a team providing comprehensive training programs to individuals with disabilities seeking to obtain functional employment skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in coaching and training staff coupled with strong organizational and reporting skills. The Assistant Director of Vocational Services will be a creative problem-solver who is passionate about ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to fulfilling and meaningful work opportunities that align with their unique needs and aspirations.

What We Need:

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Director of Vocational Services to manage daily operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Develop and implement innovative programs and strategies to enhance employment training outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Supervision and Leadership:

• Work directly with and mentor a team of vocational specialists, job coaches, and other support staff.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that promotes professional growth and development.
• Provide guidance and support to staff in navigating complex employment situations, barriers to goal achievement, and resolving challenges.

Goal Progression:

• Participate in developing comprehensive training programs to enhance job readiness skills and employability.
• Assist staff in creating clear goals and person-centered lesson plans.
• Monitor and track goal progression.
• Coordinate weekly staff meetings to troubleshoot challenges and identify appropriate technology and assistive devices.

Administrative Tasks:

• Manage scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist with budgetary responsibilities and resource allocation for vocational services programs.

What You Need:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Experience in vocational services preferred.
• Knowledge of NJ State DVRS and DDD regulations governing employment services for individuals with disabilities preferred but will train if needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in managing and supervising staff.
• Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
• Passion for empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential.
