JobDescription : We are seeking compassionate anddedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in Birmingham Alabama.

As a DSP you willplay a critical role in providing direct care and support toindividuals with IDD helping them achieve their personal goals andlead more independent lives.

Your efforts will directly contributeto enhancing the quality of life for our residents by promotingtheir physical emotional and social wellbeing.

KeyResponsibilities :

• Coach and Support : Partner alongside the people we serve providing coaching advice andparticipation in dailyactivities.
• PersonalCare : Assist with personal care and daily livingskills including bathing cleaning feeding and lifting asneeded.
• Transportation : Transport individuals to and from group homes and various communitylocations (if applicable).
• DailyLiving Skills : Help individuals develop essentiallife skills such as cooking cleaning and moneymanagement.
• CommunityIntegration : Encourage participation in communityactivities social events and recreationalopportunities.
• Safety andSupervision : Ensure the safety and wellbeing ofindividuals by providing appropriate supervision and followingsafetyprotocols.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate records of care provided health observations andprogress towards individualgoals.
• AdditionalDuties : Perform other duties as assigned to supportthe overall mission and goals of theorganization.

Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesRequired :

• Education : Musthave a high school diploma orGED.
• Experience : Related experience preferred but notrequired.
• AgeRequirement : Must be at least 21 years of age forpositions requiringdriving.
• DriversLicense : Must have a valid Alabama drivers licenseand be insurable by the agencysinsurance.
• Screening : Must be able to pass preemployment screening.

PhysicalRequirements :

Mobility : Frequentstanding and walking for extended periods; hand dexterity; reachingwith hands and arms; climbing or balancing;

stooping; kneeling;crouching; orcrawling.

• Hearing : Ability to listen to sounds both near andfar.
• Sitting : Occasional sittingrequired.
• Lifting : Frequent lifting and / or moving more than 100pounds.
• Vision : Specific vision abilities required including close vision distancevision color vision and depth perception.
