DescriptionTechnical Requirements:
- Changeover and setup new jobs following the job specifications and requirements. Fix or change new parts on packaging machinery and equipment and tests before running production. Obtains and returns ‘make ready’ parts to the shop as needed.
- Safely Troubleshoots and repairs problems on Filling/Attaching machines. Maintain and fix mechanical equipment, systems and processes to meet quality and efficiency requirements, applying knowledge of mechanical principles (and minor electrical).
- Analyze production effectiveness to anticipate future problems to take proactive corrective measures. Perform minor investigation on equipment failures and discuss your findings with the mechanics to diagnose faulty operation, and to correct with short terms and longer-term recommendations.
- Partner with floor personnel, including Team and Line leads, Quality Techs, Material handlers and other maintenance persons to ensure that job orders run effectively per schedule.
- Ensures that the equipment is clean and sanitized before/after use.
- Upon management/engineering authorization, modify machinery as needed for various product designs.
- Work with cross functional teams on continuous improvement projects, including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Responsible for the overall safety, operation, quality, and performance of all attaching equipment including but not limited to Heidelberg attaching lines and Straight Cutters.
- Work with supervisors and other departments to become proficient operating any current equipment as well as any future equipment upgrades.
- Complete all required documentation to ensure correct carriers as well as ensuring packers utilize correct boxes, pads, boxes per layer/skid, skids and understand all packing instructions.
- Responsible for accuracy of product produced, packaged, and shipped to customer including ensuring Packers are trained and performing, as required. Includes box labeling accuracy and material usage and returns.
- Complete folder set-ups, carrier feed accuracy, labeler set-ups, fold set-ups, scale set-ups, and hourly scale checks including complete line clearance per the SOP.
- Communicate production, safety, maintenance, and other related issues to the Supervisors and supporting departments.
- Provide daily production information and maintain accurate production reporting. Supply samples throughout job run, as required.
