Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Activity Aide to join our team in providing engaging and fulfilling activities for our residents in a care facility setting.
Duties:
- Plan and implement recreational activities for residents based on their interests and abilities
- Assist residents with participation in activities, providing encouragement and support as needed
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure activities meet the individual needs of residents
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Assist in event planning and coordination for special occasions or holidays
- Engage residents in social interactions to promote a sense of community and well-being
Requirements:
- Experience or knowledge in home community care, recreational therapy, social work, or related fields
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently and coordinate multiple activities
- Compassionate attitude towards providing care for individuals in assisted living or long-term care settings
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is a plus
- Strong organizational skills for planning and executing events effectively
