What You'll Do
Develops CNA competencies through hands-on experience in a clinical setting. Supports the CNA and Nursing staff while preparing to become a CNA through learning on the job, and fulfilling certification requirements.
Location - Arcadia's Health Care Center

• Full Time 8:00am to 4:00pm

Responsibilities

1. Practices skills and achieves competencies learned in school under the supervision of clinical staff.
2. Interacts with residents in the Health Care Center in accordance with AFC's mission, core values, mindsets and guideposts.
3. Replenishes supplies on the floor and maintains inventories.
4. Runs errands within HCC for staff.
5. Refills water for residents.
6. Prepares and clears area for meals.
7. Tidies rooms and makes beds.
8. Assists with gathering supplies for showers.
9. Observes and reports to Licensed Staff all changes in condition (including significant changes), behavior or whereabouts that may require intervention.
10. Facilitates and supports client participation in planned activities
11. Engages in positive interactions with residents and promotes socialization during unscheduled periods.
12. Delivers messages.
13. Attends mandatory in-service programs.
14. Attends and successfully completes state approved Nurse Aid Training Program
15. Ensures that all residents' rights and privacy are protected and enforced.
16. Participates and assists during emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook and/or the AHHS disaster policy.
17. Passes Nurse Aide certification exam.
18. Other duties as assigned by the Arcadia Family of Companies.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
Current State of Hawaii Nurse Aide certificate. Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in using a computer, which may include using such software as Vision or Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other applicable software applications.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
